30 Ways to Study Spelling Words 1. Play dough words- use play dough to spell out words 2. Puffy paint words- Let children use puffy paints to paint their words on a piece of paper 3. shaving cream words- put a pile of shaving cream on a cleanable surface and let kids write their words with their finger in the shaving cream 4. Stamp it!- use alphabet stamps to stamp their words 5. Paint it!- use watercolors or paint to paint their words 6. Type it!- Let them type their words using different colors and fonts 7. salt/sand/flour/sugar tray- put colored construction paper on a tray and cover with salt, sand, flour, or sugar. Let the kids use their finger to write their words in the tray. 8. Sidewalk chalk- write their words on the sidewalk with chalk 9. Air writing- watch as your child spells his words in the air with his finger. Try to guess the word he has spelled. 10. Letter tiles- spell words using letter tiles (Scrabble tiles work well) 11.
