The Arab National Society for Health Research and Services strives
to achieve equitable health, environmental and socio-economic
conditions for Palestinian Arabs throughout Israel.
The mission of the Galilee Society is therefore to empower the
Palestinian population in Israel and to strengthen civil society
through measures such as education, distribution of health
services, raising awareness through the media and extensive
advocacy and lobbying to achieve equal health and
environmental conditions.

through methods such as education, advocacy and research

cooperation with Schneider Hospital)
 Health Rights Project (in cooperation with the Patient Rights
Association, Citizen Rights Association)
The Major Health Problems\ Challenges
• High rates of chronic diseases: Diabetes, CVD,
Inherited Diseases & Congenital Malformations,
Cancer.
• High infant mortality rates (IMR)
• Unhealthy behaviors\ life style: Smoking, Obesity &
Low Physical Activities
• Non-appropriate Health Services (availability,
accessibility & cultural sensitivity)
My Expectations
• To act as a lobby to encourage the state to change it’s policy
and to support the Arab NGO’s (financially & professionally)
that work to improve the Arabs health status
• To provide more academic opportunities for the Arab
professionals and community activists
• To support Arab NGO’s in Israel through professional
organizations in the states especially in health.
• To increase the funds directed to health projects focused on
the health indicators mentioned before
