WHO WE ARE
Colon Cancer Support Network of the Carolinas is dedicated to
providing support to colon cancer patients as they navigate the
emotional, physical, and financial challenges of their diagnosis by
offering peer-to-peer mentoring, financial assistance, and facilitated
support groups. We are a registered 501©3 nonprofit, EIN# 454761914.
HOW WE BEGAN
While Harrisburg resident, Yvette Ferris, was delivering her fourth
child, she learned of a significant tumor that was determined to be
Stage III colon cancer. With three other young children at home and
her fourth having just arrived, the horrible news brought 36 year old
Yvette and her husband to their knees. They soon realized that there
were very limited resources available to help her cope with her new
life; no one to tell her what to expect, how to handle the effects of the
disease, or to support her during treatment and her healing after
treatment.
Yvette’s friends and family saw her struggling and rallied around her.
They also found many other colon cancer survivors in even more
difficult circumstances than Yvette and vowed to turn her struggle into
a legacy that would benefit the lives of others. Colon Cancer Support
Network (formerly known as The Yvette W. Ferris Foundation) was
founded in 2012 – the year that Yvette was officially declared cancerfree!

EVENT DETAILS
Join us on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 for our 6th Annual Bottoms UP
Comedy Fest at the Comedy Zone in the NC Music Factory. We
guarantee a fun-filled night of laughter that will include fundraising
for our colon cancer patients with an entertaining live auction and over
100 silent auction items to bid on. During the evening, food and drinks
can be purchased from the Comedy Zone. Doors open at 6 pm.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Our goal is raise $100,000 for our colon cancer survivors and you can
help by sponsoring, attending the event, and/or donating silent auction
items. Our promise is that your tax deductible donation will have an
immediate impact on a patient’s life.
