CONGRATULATIONS…
…and thank you for choosing the G250, a voltage invertor/charger specially
suited for demanding user of electrical power from mains.
Apart from its unique toughness and extraordinary quality, the G250 gives you
durability and reliability.
Like the other devices from Gaus sts®, the G250 is produced to meet the highest
quality standards.
This guide introduces you to your G250 and shows you how to get the most of it.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
G250 is voltage invertor which uses lead-acid battery (12V) to produce stabile
alternate voltage (220V~, 50Hz), with maximal continual power of 500W. Output
voltage is trapezoid simulation (PWM modulation) of sinusoidal voltage. G250 is
completely automated and it has controlled battery charger, which provides
maintaining of battery in stand-by condition. It has electronic protection from
overloading, automatic circuit breaker in DC area and fuse in AC area, and
appropriate display of mode.
Due to a high quality of output signal, working voltage stability and power of
G250, it has wide area of use. It could be used for power supply of phones, faxes,
audio and video equipment, TV sets, computers, lightning, pumps in homeheating systems, alarms…
Using of G250 is rather simplified. Once you install G250, it does not require any
maintenance until the end of the lifetime of attached battery. If there is
appropriate voltage in mains, connected devices are supplied directly from the
mains, battery is eventually charged. In the case of fail of voltage in the mains
invertor is activated and connected devices are supplied from battery, until
voltage in the mains is restored or voltage of battery drops below safe level (deep
discharging is not permitted).
PREPARING YOUR G250 FOR USE
1. Make sure that the automatic circuit breaker, on the backside of G250, and
main switch on the front side are turned off.
2. DANGER! IMPORTANT! Clamp on blue wire should be
connected to negative pole of the battery and clamp on red
wire should be connected to positive pole of battery. You
must be ensured that the correct polarity is observed and
good connections are made between clamps on blue and
red wires of G250 and poles of battery. In case of reversing
the polarity G250 will be destroyed. The warranty is not
applicable in this case!
3. Switch the automatic circuit breaker on. If the battery is empty indicator light
BAT LOW is on.
USE AND PROTECTION OF BATTERY
G250 is voltage invertor that uses lead-acid battery (12V). If the plug is connected
to the mains and there is appropriate voltage (light indicator 220V is on), G250
works as battery charger. It takes care of voltage of battery: if voltage drops
bellow 12.5V charging is started and if voltage goes above 15V charging is
stopped. If the plug is disconnected from the mains or the mains is down and
invertor is on, then battery is discharging and it supplies the load. Battery current
depends on power of load. Larger power of load takes larger current and battery
is faster discharged. If voltage of battery drops below 10.5V then G250 makes
sound, which is warning that battery is almost discharged and sign that you
should turn off invertor. If G250 continues to work as invertor and voltage of
battery drops below 10V then light indicator BAT LOW is on, invertor is turned off
and battery is charging (if mains is on). While voltage of battery rises up to 12V
invertor can not be turned on. When voltage is above 12V invertor could be
turned on. In this way G250 protects battery from damage and maintains its
lifetime.

4. Connect the plug into the mains. If there is electrical power and appropriate
voltage, indicator light 220V is on and process of automatic charging of
battery is started.
5. By turning the main switch G250 is in STAND BY. Indicator light ON/OFF is
on. When voltage in the mains fails invertor is activated, indicator light
CONVERTER is on and indicator light 220V is off. When voltage in the mains
is restored invertor is automatically turned off and process of charging of
battery is started.
6. Devices you want supply you should plug in socket on front side of G250.
Supply of devices connected like this is from the mains, until there is
appropriate voltage or from invertor and battery, when voltage in mains fails,
main switch is on and battery is not discharged.
7. You can turn off invertor whenever.
8. If light indicator LOW BAT goes on during work of invertor
you must turn it off to prevent voltage of battery to drop below
safe level (deep discharging of battery is not permitted).

RECHARGING – WARNING!
As you can see in table, larger capacity of battery gives you longer time of
autonomous use of G250. There is one more fact that you should be aware of:
larger capacity of battery takes longer time of recharging. You can use battery
with larger capacity than shown ones in table, but since the recharging of battery
is controlled and limited that will take longer time of complete recharging.
However, you can use incomplete recharged battery (after some time of
recharging, when voltage of battery reaches 12.5V), but in that case time of
autonomous use of G250 will be considerable shorter. Only complete charged
battery gives you full time of autonomous use of G250.
OVERLOADING – CAUTION!
You must not connect device to G250 whose power is more than 300W or
devices whose total power is more than 300W!
There are many devices that need huge
amounts of power: devices with
asynchronous
motors
and
with
resistance heaters. Asynchronous motor
has transition period after starting and it last until nominal
speed is reached. During that period through motor flows
excessive current, so it needs huge power. There are many devices in household
with asynchronous motor: cooling devices (refrigerators, air
conditioners), vacuum cleaners, fans, drills, etc. Resistance
heater is resistor with small resistance and through
it flows excessive current all the time. In that
case
resistor
develops
high
temperature and takes large amount
of power from the mains. There are
many devices in household with resistance heaters:
ovens, irons, heaters, hair dryers (they have both the
asynchronous motor and the resistance heater), etc.
G250 is not designed for that kind of devices! . In case of
overloading G250 will be destroyed. The warranty is not
applicable in this case!
DISCONNECTING – WARNING!
You should be aware of fact that G250 is not turned off when main switch is
turned off. If the plug is connected to the mains and there is appropriate voltage
(light indicator 220V is on), G250 works as battery charger. It takes care of
voltage of battery: if voltage drops bellow 12.5V charging is started and if voltage
goes above 15V charging is stopped. Therefore if you want to disconnect G250
(in case of replacing the battery or removing G250 from one place to another) you
should first to unplug G250 from the mains and then take off the clamps from the
battery. If you want to connect G250 again, you should follow the procedure
described in PREPARING YOUR G250 FOR USE.
During the work of G250 you should take care of connections between G250 and
battery. If one clamp falls off the battery terminal you should first unplug G250
from the mains, then put fallen clamp back on battery terminal and, at the end,
plug in the G250 in the mains.
