No. 84/2007 Version as at 27 February 2013 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe precursor chemicals and the quantities of precursor chemicals for the purpose of section 71D of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 132 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 1 August 2007. 4 Definition In these Regulations— precursor chemical means a substance (including its salts, derivatives, isomers, analogues and homologues) that may be used in the preparation of a drug of dependence, whether or not the substance is contained in, or mixed with, another substance. 5 Prescribed precursor chemicals For the purpose of section 71D of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981, a substance specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 is a prescribed precursor chemical. 1 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 S.R. No. 84/2007 Sch. 1 ENDNOTES 1. General Information The Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007, S.R. No. 84/2007 were made on 24 July 2007 by the Governor in Council under section 132 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981, No. 9719/1981 and came into operation on 1 August 2007: regulation 3. The Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 24 July 2017 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994). 8 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Precursor Chemicals) Regulations 2007 S.R.
