Type of survey: 2. Machinery and electrical installation survey: Intermediate Renewal 2.1 The machinery and boiler spaces and essential machinery have been generally examined and found satisfactory. AIR 2.2 The emergency escape routes from the machinery and boiler spaces are free of obstruction. AIR 2.3 The machinery and boiler spaces are free of all visible fire and explosion hazards. AIR 2.4 The main and auxiliary steering arrangements, including, their associated equipment and control system, have been examined, operated and found satisfactory. AIR 2.5 All the means of communication between navigation bridge, machinery control and alternative steering positions have been tested and found satisfactory. AIR 2.6 The bilge pumping systems, including bilge wells, extended spindles, pumps and level alarms, where fitted, have been examined and operated, as far as practicable, and found satisfactory. AIR 2.7 An external examination of boiler , pressure vessels, including safety devices, fundations, controls, relieving gear, insulation, gauges and piping has been carried out, as far as practicable, and found satisfactory. AIR 2.8 A test in working condition of the boiler has been carried out and found satisfactory. AIR 2.9 A test of the means of remotely controlling the propulsion machinery from the navigation bridge, if applicable, have been carried out and found satisfactory. AIR 2.11 The operation test by reserve current/ reverse power* was found satisfactory. AIR 2.12 The remote controls for stopping fans and machinery and shutting off fuel supplies in machinery spaces, where fitted the remote control for stopping fans in accommodation spaces and the means of cutting off power to the galley are in working order. AIR 2.13 The electrical equipment and cabling forming the main and emergency electrical installations have been generally examined under operating conditions, as far as practicable. AIR 3. Additional requeriments for oil tankers 3.1 A general examination of lighthing rods, rigging earth and pipeline earth connections carried out and found satisfactory. IR 3.2 An insulation test of cables and cables runs, main and emergency switchboards, feeder circuit breakers etc, have been carried out and found satisfactory (magatest to be attached) IR 3.3 A verification of loading and unloading instruments have been carried out and found satisfactory. IR 3.4 An examination of explosionproof lights and fixtures have been carried out and found satisfactory. R 3.5 A general examination and pressuring test (if applicable) of piping line in cargo tank and fuel oil tank have been carried out and found satisfactory. R 3.6 A general examination of crude oil washing (when fitted), piping, pumps, valves and deck mounted washing machines are to be examined and tested. R 3.7 An external examination and test of piping systems, pumps, valve in cargo pumps were carried out and found satisfactory.
