Supplemental Questions:
Please answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper.
1. Why are you interested in this position? What skills and abilities do you offer the ASULV Executive
Board?
2. List clubs and organizations you are affiliated with on campus. Include leadership positions you will
hold within these organizations for 2016-2017?
3. List other time commitments you have in 2016-2017 (i.e. work, units, etc.)?
4. Answer the following scenario that relates to the position for which you are applying and mark in
the box the question you are answering. (Please attach your answer to this question on a separate sheet of paper):
 Vice President of Finance:
A recognized club comes before you and the Finance Committee and presents a request for a Country
Line Dancing event. The projected number of attendees is 200 people and the event is going to be held
in the campus center. The amount requested breaks down into the following budget line items:
Marketing----------------------$100
Decorations--------------------$500
Food----------------------------$1,000
DJ-------------------------------$400
Total Amount Requested: $2,000
Two members of the Finance Committee want to approve the full amount. The other two people think
that the cost of food and decorations are too much. What is your opinion of the budget? How would you
deal with the conflict between the Finance Committee members? How would you breakdown the budget
to ensure that the event is sufficiently funded and the conflicts between the members is resolved?
 Vice President of Communications:
The ASULV President asks you to put the following items in an email and send it to all ASULV
Senators:
“So we have to move Monday’s meeting from the WDR to PDR because there is a
Faculty Senate meeting in there that day at that time. Also, the Executive Vice
President emailed out the Constitution so can you tell the Senators to email the
corrections back to the EVP by Friday at noon? Also please tell the Senators that we
need people to sign up to run the ASULV commuter booth for Saturday. We can take
as many as will sign up but we need at least 2 people to volunteer. The information
for the booth can be received from the CAB chair so email CAB and ask for the booth
requirements. The Executive Vice President needs all Senators who have not signed
up for their office hours to do so by Friday at noon and the sign up sheet is in the
office. Also, some Senators still haven’t turned in their reports.”
Create an “email” including this information to the ASULV Senators. How would it be formatted?
 Vice President of Marketing:
School begins next week and ASULV wants to spread the word and advertises the “ASULV Is Out to
Lunch With You” Lunch Ceremony event. The date of this event is September 12th at 11am-2pm in the
Campus Center. Lunch will be provided. The purpose of the event is to invite students to meet the
ASULV members, fill out surveys of concerns they have on campus and get a mailing list of students
interested in learning more about ASULV issues and events. What would your marketing plan look like?
How would you go about advertising for the event? Please attach any supporting marketing material.
GPA Verification from Registrars Office:
As an applicant for this student leadership position, I permit the release of my grades by the Registrar's
Office to the Office of Student Life for verification purposes of GPA minimum requirements.
