Key Information This post is to initially support NISP in the delivery of the North West Regional Science Park project, in partnership with LYIT and NWRCBG Full time permanent position Attendance at weekly breakfast/evening and weekend events – will require overnight stays. Approximately £30,000 per year plus benefits This post will be based at The Innovation Centre, Queen’s Island, Belfast with weekly travel to the North West Regional Science Park Reporting to Director of Corporate Real Estate & Facilities. Background North West Regional Science Park The North West Regional Science Park (NWRSP), funded under the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Programme, is a collaborative cross-border project between North West Region Cross Border Group (NWRCBG), Northern Ireland Science Park Limited (NI Science Park) and Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT). ©NISP Apr14 JD/PS Post of Development Manager PAGE: 1 of 5 It will create a third generation Science Park, pivotal to the growth of the region’s Knowledge Economy, on two sites comprising 50,000 sq ft gross at Fort George Derry~Londonderry and 20,000 sq ft gross at LYIT’s Co-Lab incubator unit in Letterkenny. The NWRSP builds on the track record of the internationally recognised Northern Ireland Science Park Limited which started in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter a decade ago with one building and no tenants, and today plays host to circa 110 companies, 2000 staff and inputs £80m annually GVA into the Northern Ireland economy. Construction has commenced on the Fort George Site with completion planned for late Summer 2014. NWRSP at LYIT is expected to be completed by June 2015. Tenant & Corporate duties included. The Role Objectives 1. To support the NWRSP Steering Committee and Project Board in the implementation of the North West Regional Science Park Project. 2. To support the growth of the NWRSP through cross border collaboration with relevant stakeholders and programmes. 3. To support the NISP executive directors in the implementation of the Northern Ireland Science Park corporate plan and its objectives Functions 1. To oversee the delivery of the NWRSP project, in partnership with LYIT and NWRCBG; 2. To ensure that effective structures and systems are in place to manage the day to day activities of the NWRSP Project; 3. To provide the Secretariat function to both the NWRSP Steering Committee and NWRSP Project Board; 4. To provide the Secretariat function to NWRSP Sub committees; 5. To coordinate the submission of reports to the North West Region Cross Border Group to satisfy requirements of the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Programme; 6. To work in partnership with LYIT and NWRCBG to deliver the NWRSP’s Communication and Marketing Plan, ensuring proper recognition of the European Union and the INTERREG IVA Programme; 7. To work in collaboration with LYIT and relevant agencies to deliver NISP Programmes on a cross border basis; 8. To assist in the development and implementation of the strategic direction of the NWRSP in furtherance of the science park concept; 9. To assist in the marketing of accommodation, support services and event space including negotiations and overseeing legal agreements; ©NISP Apr14 JD/PS Post of Development Manager PAGE: 2 of 5 10. To support NISP in providing reporting information, to the Management Committee, Board of Directors, Board Committees and Government agencies; 11. To support the NISP in collating data on its real estate performance including regular presenting of data; 12. To support the NISP in collating data on performance of tenant companies and their sectors; 13. To meet regularly with tenants collectively and individually to collect the required data; 14. To organize regular tenant business and social events; 15. Management of the Science Park’s websites and social media channels to ensure property/corporate content is fresh, accurate and meeting the needs of all audiences; 16. To work closely with the Directors in implementing strategies across all areas and achieve revenue targets; 17. To develop, build and manage relationships at all levels; 18. Comply with the Science Park’s Equal Opportunities Policy; 19. Participate in Science Park’s appraisal/performance review scheme and in training and development opportunities as appropriate; 20. Keep abreast of current and new developments in in the area of business development and all relevant areas; 21.
