Folding the wing without separating from FIB.
You need:
1) Two extensible tubes with twist-lock that are made for painting ceilings. I found mine
in Home Depot called Mr.LongArm n.9272 but there are various kind.
2) A block and tackle system with quick fittings to the cross bar wire and the back of the
keel.
3) A rack that you can easily build with aluminum or steel and that you fix to the two free
bolt places you find on the 582 just before the gear box with two butterfly nuts
. Take away this rack when you fly.
Operation
-Put the bar down on the boat more forward you can
-Put a rope on top of the tube (or better a strap) and make a slack loop around the
lateral wing cable
and put the other side of the tube in the terminal of the bar
- Extend the tube and lock it
taking care that the loop is well on top of the cable near the leading edge.
-Fix the block and tackle at the end of the keel and at the cross bar cable.
It will stay there with the wing dismounted to pull the cross bar when mounting.
-Slack the cross bar cable (And the security in front of the mast)
-The wing will be slack but supported by the two tubes
-Take away the battens and move gently the wings backward and let them rest on the rack
-Fold the sail and fasten it to the rack.
