Ordering and delivery procedures for equipment destined for the CNS data center
Inside delivery must be noted on the order.
Eighteen-wheelers cannot be accommodated at SSRB and are difficult at CSE209. On delivery
instruction please specify “straight van unloading only - not tractor trailer accessible. Lift gate required.”
Shippers should contact operations, 352-392-2291 for directions or any questions related to the
physical delivery of equipment.
Equipment destined for CSE209 should be delivered to that location by the shipper.

When the customer has a PO issued for equipment destined for the Data Center computer rooms, they
must submit a Remedy ticket to Operations to accept delivery. Include how many pieces of
equipment, approximate size, shipping company and tracking information.
The customer should be onsite at delivery time or at least available by phone. All equipment boxes
delivered to and stored in the staging area must have a note with the project name, a contact for the
hardware and a date.

Installation procedures for computer room equipment and projects
Contact the Data Center Infrastructure Project Manager [contact info. below] with an overview of what
is going to be ordered, implementation dates, critical dates and any other special network or facilities
requirements. The DCI Project Manager will then submit a Remedy parent ticket to track the work.
Child tickets will be created for specific tasks required to complete the work.
For larger projects a meeting with the customer, Net-Services Core and DCI will be scheduled. Other
meetings as required will follow.
Please note the following project lead-time requirements:
 There is a minimum 2 week lead-time after the request is received for main rack power.
 For large projects there is a 4-5 week lead time for fiber.
 For smaller projects, the average turnaround time is 1 week.
 Some changes require scheduling maintenance windows.
Customers will need to be able to provide the following information regarding their installation:
Physical
 Vendor name and contact information
 Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of equipment if attached to the network
 Power specs: volts, phase, amps, receptacle type and any other applicable power specs
 The number of rack units (U), shipping weight and equipment floor loading rate
 Thermal load specifications
Network
 Number and purpose of Ethernet connections required.
 DNS, IP and subnet information for all connected equipment
 Custom switch configuration needs such as port channeling, ACLs, or redundant network setups
 Number and purpose of fiber connections required.
 Fiber type (single-mode or multi-mode) and connector type (LC, SC or ST ect)
Device Management
 Crash carts are provided in place of using the rack kvm’s and consoles. There is one crash cart in
each room at SSRB 130b, 230a and CSE209. Each cart has one console, keyboard and mouse.
 Phone line or other out-of-band connection
De-Installation procedures for computer room equipment and projects
