I.
Catalog Description and Credit Hours of Course: This course introduces the student to various medical
conditions and disorders concerning allied health professionals in different areas of specialization. (2 credit hours)
II.
Prerequisites: BS 113/114 or consent of instructor.
III.
Purposes or Objective of the Course:
A. The student will become familiar with various specialists in the allied health setting.
B. The student will learn and be able to recognize both common and rare medical conditions as well as abuses
that could occur in the active population.
C. The student will be able to identify the proper personnel with whom to refer medical emergencies and/or
conditions.
IV.
Expectations of Students:
A. Each student will complete all examinations and assignments.
B. Each student will be expected to actively participate in class discussions and presentations.
