MSwab kit processing workflow
A (12x80 mm) with 1.0 ml of medium with:
A pernasal flocked swabs for nasopharyngeal collection
A Regular flocked swab for Lesion, genital, throat etc.
Collect clinical sample with Flocked swabs and place swab in
medium tube as per collection procedure
Vortex sample to mix sample
Direct rapid Nucleic Acid
extraction for viruses or
bacteria
Transfer 200 ul sample
in a 1.5 ml microtubes
Place tube on a 980C
heating block for 3 min.
Cool sample at RT
for a few minutes.
Centrifuge at 10,000g x2
min to settle cells debris.
Add sample to mastermix
as per PCR kit in use
Traditional NA
extraction
Transfer 200ul sample
to lyses buffer tube as
per NA extraction
method and PCR kit in
use
Virus culture
in shell vial
Use 200 ul to
inoculate a shell
vial culture
DFA Stain as
per procedure
