We are currently hiring a Sales Representative in our Sales and Marketing Department. This position reports to the Sales Manager. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Responsible to market, solicit and secure storage, transloading and other terminal services for OTH and other terminal sites as directed. Assist other functional areas in developing valueadded solutions for OTH and its customers. Solicit cross-selling opportunities that include other Company assets and services. RESPONSIBILITIES: Interact directly with customers and OTH’s relevant functional areas to evaluate, analyze, negotiate and secure bulk liquid storage, transloading and other terminaling services in Houston. Establish and maintain good relationships with existing and potential customers ensuring their support in the interest of bulk liquid terminaling at OTH. Identify and share relevant information regarding business opportunities that include other Company divisions or locations. Work closely with customers and OTH’s relevant functional areas to initiate and fulfill the terms of new or amended agreements. Assist with customer performance reviews, and assist with resolving accounts receivables, complaints and nonconformances. Collect and report on sales and marketing activities as required. Assist Sales Manager in achieving department goals. Perform other job related duties as assigned. In case of absence, the employee’s superior may assume and/or assign responsibility for this position’s duties. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: an understanding of the transportation, storage and distribution industries and the economic drivers affecting same; strong negotiating skills with the ability to effectively communicate solutions to the affected parties; a customer service focus with the ability to communicate diplomatically; the ability to effectively develop new relationships and nurture existing relationships; the ability to successfully handle social, as well as business interactions with various people including customers and vendors; the ability to produce clear and concise reports, presentations, documents and spreadsheets used for commercial promotion; the ability to speak publically, effectively communicating on the topic at hand; the ability to travel and work outside normal office hours. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Office location in Seabrook, Texas Close proximity to hazardous petrochemicals Public speaking with fluent English Non-smoking, air conditioned office environment Some evening or weekend engagements required Ability to walk in and out of terminal for meetings, training, etc. Some travel required EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s or higher degree in business, engineering or other related field preferred Strong negotiation skills required Strong verbal and business writing skills required Sales and marketing experience (3-5 years) Knowledge and/or experience in following subjects: - Transportation, storage and distribution of bulk liquid products/chemicals - Chemicals/chemical products and properties - The petrochemical industry in general Good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SAP Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC card EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Personal computer, copier, facsimile, calculator, shredder Software: Windows - Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Multifunctional “smart” mobile telephone (i.e. iPhone) We offer a competitive wage and have a comprehensive benefits package, including the potential for full rebates on monthly medical insurance premiums.
