This list of foods will help you identify foods that are high in phosphorus as
well as foods that are low in phosphorus.
Key Points:
• Persons with kidney disease may need to limit phosphorus to prevent heart
and bone problems.
• Read food ingredient labels as many packaged foods and beverages have
phosphorus added to them. Look for the words “phosphoric” or
“phosphate”.
