The Best Foods for Lowering the Risk of Cancer
Cancer deaths have been going down (percentage-wise) over the last few
years, but it’s still our number one killer disease, and we therefore have to
do everything possible to avoid it. One thing that helps is eating the right
foods, and some of the best foods for lowering the risk of cancer are as
follows:
Broccoli
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Tomatoes
Carrots
Blueberries (and other berries)
Milk (fortified with vitamin D)
Particularly important are foods that contain vitamin D, and unfortunately
there are not a lot of them. They include: cod liver oil, salmon, tuna, and
sardines. Foods that contain a lot of fiber are also important (particularly in
relation to colon cancer). They include: all bran and other cereals, and of
course, vegetables and fruit.
