INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE AND DATABASE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FOR ENZYME-LINKED IMMUNOSORBENT ASSAYS USING A WEB-BASED APPLICATION. C. E. Wischmeyer, G. R. Skuse*, M. V. Osier*, M. E. Pichichero**, *Department of Bioinformatics, **Rochester General Hospital Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) are a commonly used analytical tool for detecting and quantifying antigens and antibodies in a sample. An automated plate reader detects and measures the fluorescence of the liquid in each well of a microtiter plate. That fluorescence provides a quantitative measure of the antibody concentration. The online tool developed during the course of this project not only ensures that the linear dilution series of each sample is truly linear, but also automatically updates the RGH database with the resulting data. This research project is a collaboration between members of the Bioinformatics Program at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Dr. Michael Pichichero's laboratory at Rochester General Hospital (RGH) and it seeks to create a seamless interface for translating and managing technical bioassay data for clinical diagnosis, research and therapy.
