PAC ACID PHOSPHATASE APPLICATIONS Colorimetric assay for the quantification of the lysosomal metabolism of cells in response to pharmaceutical, chemical and environmental compounds, and nutrients. PRINCIPLE Acid Phosphatase (PAC) is a functional marker of the lysosomal compartment. The enzyme activity is measured by the conversion of p-nitro-phenylphosphate (pNPP) into p-nitrophenolate (pNP) and correlates with cell number. The reaction product is determined spectrophotometrically.
