Experimental Design Scenerio
Iesha knew that salt was put out on the streets when the weather was predicted to go below 0°C.
She wondered what the effect of different salts would be on the freezing temperature of water.
To test this she set up 4 different beakers. She added 10 ml of distilled water to each beaker.
She then added 10 g of NaCl, 10 g of CaCl2, and 10g of AlCl3 to the other 3 beakers
respectively. All beakers where put in a cold room set to –5°C. After 30 minutes she checked
to see how much of the material in the beakers was solid. She repeated her test 2 more times and
got an average for each condition.
Instructions. Fill in template based on design.

Title: How salts affect the freezing temperature of water.
Hypothesis: Adding salt to water will lower the freezing temperature of the water.
Prediction: If I add salt to water then the freezing temperature of the water will decrease.
