MATH 246 Lab #12 Geometry Name: _____________________________ For each question below, start a new window so the work area isn’t too crowded. When you are ready to answer a question, select Edit, Graphics View to Clipboard, and paste the image into the appropriate location in the document. At the end of the class period, save the file as your full name (e.g., Darth Vader) and then email it to me [email protected]. Don’t worry if you can’t complete all of the problem; do as many as you can. 1. Make a pentagon. 2. Make a regular pentagon. 3. Make a concave hexagon. 4. Make a stop sign. Include the word STOP in all capital letters in the sign. In order to make it look realistic, make the sign red with white font and eliminate/hide GeoGebra’s labeling of the vertices. 5. Make a trapezoid. 6. Make a kite. 7. Try to make a kite that has a pair of parallel sides. 8. Make a parallelogram. Then copy the parallelogram, and put the two parallelograms together side-by-side so that two sides coincide. How do the angles fit together? Do they look congruent? Do they look supplementary? (Supplementary angles are angles that add to 180 degrees). 9. Make a scalene triangle. Then bisect each of its three angles. What do you notice? The button will come in handy for questions 10-12 (this button helps with anything where you need to measure a quantity such as length, angle size, etc.). 10. Try to make a kite with exactly one right angle. 11. Try to make a trapezoid that looks like it has 3 equal length sides. 12. Try to make a kite that has (or looks like it has) 3 obtuse angles. 13. For extra fun, make your first and last initials. For example, you can use the polygon feature and make block letters or you can be super creative and try something else. Use your favorite color to make them.
