Search Tips
1. Choose a database based on
the topic and your needs.
• Topic: Grassland Restoration
• Course: Environmental Science
• If I know nothing about the topic
I may start in an All-in-One
database.
• Then once I have some
background knowledge on the
topic I may also use a subject
specific database such as the
Environmental Studies and
Policy Collection database
Search Tips
2. Search by Keyword
and use these tips to
improve your results.
Search Tips
Hint: take a look
at the features of
the search box.
There may be buttons
to refine your search to
full-text articles. This
is helpful if you want an
entire article and not
just an
abstract/summation.
There are also usually
buttons to limit to peerreviewed and
documents with images.
