SSF obtains possession.
Notice must be made by
certified mail, return
receipt, if possession was
before January 1, 2012.
Notice of Claim:
SSF notifies tenant by verified mail
(or email if an email is provided in
written rental/lease agreement).
Notice to Owner(s) and Lienholder(s):
SSF notifies owner and each
lienholder by verified mail (or
newspaper publication, if applicable).
14 days pass
Notice of Sale:
On or after the 15th day after the Notice
of Claim, the SSF makes 1st newspaper
publication (or posting, if applicable).
30 days pass
A total of two publications in two
consecutive weeks are required.

Title and Registration Verification
Proof of Notifications
Liability Insurance
Out of State Vehicles (if applicable):
a. VI-30 (or a Texas Vehicle Inspection
Report after March 1, 2015)
b. Weight Certificate (Commercial Vehicle)
Vehicle can be sold at public
sale to the highest bidder if
the charges remain unpaid.
The public sale may occur on, or after, the
later of the following:
•
31st day after the Notice to Owner(s) and
Lienholder(s) was mailed;
•
15th day after the Notice of Sale was
published (or 11th day if made by posting).
Purchaser files title
application with county tax
assessor-collector.
