 ARRIVALS FEE SCHEDULE AND PAYMENT POLICY Arrivals Obstetricians is not a bulk billing practice and all fees are payable on the day of consultation. Payment can be
made by cash, cheque, VISA, Mastercard or EFTPOS. As each pregnancy is unique we don’t provide patients with an
expected total cost for their pregnancy and delivery, all fees charged are listed below. Also see Arrivals Schedule of Visits.

*Pregnancy Management Fee (PMF): Payable at first appointment after 20 weeks. If you know that you will be delivering
elsewhere there is a facility for a discount if we are notified prior to 20 weeks. PMF is non refundable.
*Obstetrician and Midwife appointments will receive a rebate from Medicare. This will be greater than prices listed above
if you have met the Medicare safety net.
*Allied Health services maybe claimed through your health fund (HF). A 50% fee will be charged for late cancellations
and no shows.
DELIVERY AT MATER MOTHERS PRIVATE HOSPITAL
Privately Insured patients:
Arrivals Obstetricians are No Gap providers with all major health funds, so there will be no out of pocket expense for
delivery (standard or complicated). *However some of the smaller funds will incur a gap payment of $900. These health
funds include: FRANK Health, FIT Health, Latrobe and Budget. Gap payment is due at 30 weeks gestation.
Uninsured Patients: Uninsured patients are required to pay the complicated delivery fee at 32 weeks. The delivery is
specified as complicated based on the Medicare rules and not the mode of delivery. Following delivery the difference will
be refunded if the delivery was standard. If you have Medicare cover then you can claim for your rebate once you have
delivered. Payment Plan: 28wks = $1500 | 30wks = $1500 |32wks = $1090
Overseas Health Funds: If you have an overseas health fund, a financial guarantee will be required by 30 weeks. If your
health fund will not provide this guarantee you will need to pay in full prior to delivery and then claim back through your
health fund post delivery.
Appointments at Arrivals
− Patients will be issued with an invoice at the end of each consultation and we do request payment at this time.
− Arrivals is not a Bulk Billing practice.
− Payment options include MasterCard and VISA card, EFTPOS, cash and private cheques.
− The Medicare rebate can be claimed for you at Arrivals, the rebate will go back into the bank account nominated
with Medicare.
− Private Health Funds only cover in-hospital expenses.
− Allied health services (Physio, Pilates, Dietitian and Massage) can be claimed via HiCaps if covered by your
Private Health Fund
− The pregnancy management fee is payable after 20 weeks and is also eligible for Medicare rebate
− The Pregnancy Management Fee is NOT refundable and must be paid by all patients.
Medicare
All visits to our rooms are out-patient services and therefore refundable in part by Medicare only. Medicare refunds will
vary depending on how your family is currently positioned relative to the Medicare Safety Net threshold.
The Medicare safety net was introduced to ensure Australians are protected against very large medical bills. It means
that once you reach your Medicare Safety Net threshold, visits to your doctor and medical tests will end up costing you
less. Safety net accrual commences in January each year and once the threshold is reached Medicare will pay 80% of
your out-of-hospital out-of-pocket medical costs up to the nominated caps. In order to claim this benefit, couples and

Private Health Insurance
Arrivals participates in the “No Gap” schemes of most private health funds and, if eligible, your account for all inhospital obstetric services incurred after 20 weeks gestation will be forwarded directly to your private health fund.
− It’s important that you ensure your health fund covers you for obstetric services in a private hospital at the time
you are due to deliver and also that you have “No Gap” cover.
− It is important that you confirm with your private health fund that you have met your waiting period for
obstetric care.
No Private Health / Uninsured Patients
Medicare will pay a small portion of your in-hospital medical costs (75% of the scheduled fee). The remainder will be at
your own expense. You will also be responsible for the full payment of all hospital fees. To assist with your financial
planning it is best to discuss with the Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital their fee packages early in your pregnancy. The

Hospital Fees
Please note the Mater Mothers Hospital (MMH) fees are separate from Arrivals. Arrivals Obstetric Centre is not affiliated
with the MMH. If you are uninsured or have not met your waiting period for obstetric care it is strongly recommended
you contact the hospital to discuss their fees for any hospital related services, including delivery.
Other Expenses
During the course of your pregnancy and delivery the following services may incur additional charges:
• Blood tests • Ultrasounds • Paediatrician • Anaesthetist (if epidural or caesarean section) • Surgical Assistant (Caesar)
For these services, accounts will be issued separately by the firms or practitioners involved. Where possible Arrivals will
provide you in advance with their contact details so that you may obtain a quote.
