Dear Families,
As the HMS Orchestra prepares for our next concert on December 9th, we have an
opportunity to see one of the best symphony orchestras in the country next week!
Humble Middle School Orchestra has been invited to see the Houston Symphony perform
on Thursday, November 18th at 7:00 pm. STUDENTS MUST BE IN UNIFORM
BEFORE GETTING ON THE BUS. We will leave from Humble Middle School by bus
at 5:00 pm, and have dinner before enjoying the concert. Please provide money (at least
$10) for dinner. The event should end around 9:30 and we will return to the HMS
campus by 10:00 pm. These $80 tickets are being offered to us for a price of just $20!
Students who would like to attend must return the bottom slip of this letter with payment
and have a medical/travel form complete and turned into the orchestra office by Tuesday,
November 16th. Since the minimum quantity for ordering HMS Spirit shirts has not yet
been reached, parents have the option of rolling what they have given for spirit shirts over
to the price of the tickets and pay the difference ($5) or you may send cash, check (made
out to HMS Orchestra Boosters) or money order to the school by the due date.
The day after the concert money is due (November 17th) the orchestra will be taking
group pictures during class. Letters and envelopes about this event should have already
reached your hands. All students whether they are purchasing photographs or not must
participate. STUDENTS MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED.
A picture in uniform on November 17th means that students going on the orchestra trip
on November 18th must have their uniforms ready on that day as well. If there are any
