The Forbidden City: The Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and
1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side
halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this 'city within a city'.
The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are also absolutely fascinating.
Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, wear good walking shoes and protection from
the weather.
Summer Palace mainly consists of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. Covering
290.8 hectares, three fourths of which are water area, it is the royal garden and
residence of the royalty in Qing Dynasty, and is also the best preserved royal garden
with abundant landscaping and centralized architecture.
The National Stadium is the main stadium of the 29th Olympic Games. Located at
the Olympic Green, it has a floor space of 258,000 sq meters.
National Aquatics Center, one of the landmark buildings of Beijing 2008 Olympic
Games , is located inside the Beijing Olympic Green. It is axially related to the
National Stadium on the north part of Beijing Central Axis and reinforces the
historical and cultural features of Beijing city. Commenced at the end of 2003, the
construction of the building will last 3 years.

BeiJing ~ Great Wall (JuYongGuan Pass) ~ Ming Tombs
JuYongGuan Pass ~ Originally constructed in the 5th century and rebuilt by the Ming, JuYongGuan was
considered one of the most strategically important sections of the Great Wall because of its position as a link to
BeiJing. However, this section 50km north-west of Beijing has been thoroughly renovated to the point where
you don’t feel as if you’re walking on a part of history.
The Ming Tombs ~ With green hills around, Mangshan Hill and Huyu Gully at both sides, the scenery is
beautiful. The Ming Tombs is of integral layout, but each tomb is unique.The magnificent architecture and
distant walls of tombs may inspire all kinds of feelings. The Ming Tombs has become the famous place of
tourism of the world.

BeiJing ~ Temple of Heaven ~ YaXiu Clothing Market / ChengDe
Temple of Heaven ~ The construction started in 1420, the 18th year of the Yongle reign of the third emperor of
the Ming Dynasty. The Construction being magnificent and glorious, the environment solemn, the Temple of
Heaven used to be the worship site of emperors in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is also the largest architectural
complex in the world. In 1998, it ranked in the World Heritage List by the USESCO.
YaXiu Clothing Market is one of the famous clothing markets in Beijing. It attracts domestic and foreign tourists
with varied styles, colors and materials as well as an inexpensive price.
Day 5 ChengDe ~ Imperial Summer Villa ~ Little Potala Temple / BeiJing
Chengde Imperial Summer Valla located in the north of Chengde city, was a place where emperors from the
Qing dynasty spent their summers to escape the heat in Beijing. Occupying an area of 564,000 square meters, it
is the largest royal garden in China, even bigger than the Summer Palace in Beijing. The historically important
Chengdo Summer Palace is not only a tourist destination, but also a museum to explore the history and culture
of the Qing Dynasty.
The Putuo Zongcheng Temple is reminiscent of the Dala Lama’s Potala Palace in Tibet. It is considered as a
great place to go if you cannot travel to Tibet. The temple was built to show the imperial family's respect for the
minority groups and their beliefs. The temple is a marvelous sight with red walls that contrast against the
green mountain backdrop. The top of the temple complex has a commanding view of the Chengde Summer
Palace Resort.

The Place
Hutong Tours in a Rickshaw: A maze of historic alleyways and old single storey traditional courtyard houses,
now fast disappearing. Dotted around the hutong are the Drum and Bell Towers, Tea House.
National Grand Theatre located on the west side of the Great Hall of the People in the heart of BeiJing, has
finally reached completion. After more than five years of construction and a controversial debate, the theater
held its debut performance on 25September 2007.
WangFuJing is the world-famous street for centuries. Today and history are connected here, while business
and culture are immersed. The crowd of tourists shows their fancy for ancient Beijing and Century-old stores.
Dong Hua Men Night Market in Beijing is located at west of Wang Fu Jing Avenue in Beijing. The major activity
of the market includes dining with a variety of food stall in innumerable numbers. You will find vendors
screaming to attract customers towards their stall in this noisy market. The various food items available at this
market include fish, roasted meat, vegetables, noodles and much more.

Tianjin Ancient Culture Street with 600 years history, standing in the area of key section in upstream of the
Haihe River, is located in Nankai district of Tianjin. Covering an area of 224,200 sq meters, it used to be one of
earliest water transport docklands in Tianjin where is one of the busiest cities of commerce and trade in
history. As a cultural precinct, Tianjin Ancient Culture Street is well known by the local and overseas tourists.
The two attractions, Yuan Huang Ge and Tian Hou Temple are two historic cultural relics in the list of city level
ones reversed.
Nanshi Food Street is an ancient building complex 40,000 square meters in area, with more than 100
restaurants. It is a food paradise where you can taste a thousand different types of food and enjoy the
interesting cuisine culture. The building itself attracts you, even if you don’t tasting anything, as it has a
classical ethnic beauty.
The CCTV Headquarters is a skyscraper in the Beijing Central Business District. The building is the
headquarters of China Central Television. Groundbreaking took place on September 22, 2004 and the building
was completed in December 2008. Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren of OMA were the architects for the building,
while Arup provided the complex engineering design. It stands at 234 metres (768 ft) tall and has 51 floors
The Capital Museum,:It is the most advanced and modern comprehensive museum and the symbol
construction of Beijing. Hundreds of exhibitions have been held here covering a wide variety of subjects,
history, cultural relics, revolutionary history, folk customs, etc.
Day 8 BeiJing ~ Qianmen Street ~ ZhengYang Gate Kuala Lumpur
Qianmen Street : The one-year-long reconstruction of Qianmen Street is almost done. After its
reconstruction, Qianmen Street will reproduce old Beijing’s look and feel. Streetcars, decorated archway
(pailou) and bird cages as well as bronze drums and candied haws, all familiar to Beijing people will reappear
on the street.
Zhengyang Gate is located on the south-north axis of Beijing, south of the Tian'an Men Square and north of
Qianmen Street. Now only the city tower and the embrasure watchtower are in existence.
