Clinical Anatomy Course - Elements of Radiology provides the students with basic knowledge of radiological anatomy, reasoning for application of particular modalities depending on the clinical setting, basic ultrasound manual skills, as well as utilization of CT/MRI workstation. The course is organized in 6 classes: U1: Overview of ultrasonography. Ultrasound anatomy of the abdomen, part 1. U2: Ultrasound anatomy of the abdomen, part 2. U3: Ultrasound anatomy of the kidneys and pelvic organs. Critical care ultrasonography (CCUS) and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), part 1. U4: Ultrasound anatomy of the pelvis and abdomen revised. FAST exam and Pointof-care ultrasound, part 2 TK1: Computed Tomography chest and head anatomy TK2: Computed Tomography anatomy of the abdominal cavity Each class begins with an introductory lecture, followed by the practical part utilizing ultrasound equipment or imaging workstations. At the end of the course students take the final test (MCQs and radiological anatomy images). Detailed Syllabus: U1: Overview of ultrasonography. Ultrasound anatomy of the abdomen, part 1. Theory: • Basic physics and equipment • Language of ultrasonography • B-mode; M-mode, 3D and 4D mode; color Doppler, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, elastography • Most common artifacts in two-dimensional B-scan • Understanding scanning planes. Measurements in USG • Anatomy revisited: • Transverse epigastric scan – understanding topography • Large vessels of abdomen and pelvis • pancreas • liver, hepatobiliary ducts and the gallbladder • spleen • small and large intestine Skills: • Practical part: identifying organs using ultrasound equipment Required readings: 1.
