MCRN Hannah Batchelor MCRN Paediatric Formulation Research Fellow www.mcrn.org.uk “Improving the health of children through research, and providing the best infrastructure within England to support the development and delivery of world-class medicines for children research which is relevant and meaningful to children, families and other key stakeholders” Medicines for Children Research Network Coordinating Centre, University of Liverpool Department of Women's and Children's Health Institute of Translational Medicine (Child Health) Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, Eaton Road, Liverpool, L12 2AP How can the MCRN assist my research? • The MCRN supports researchers in a number of ways through its worldclass infrastructure, which includes the MCRN Coordinating Centre, Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs), Clinical Trials Units (CTUs), Local Research Networks (LRNs)/Areas and a Neonatal Network. • (CSGs are groups of key opinion leaders that provide advice, identify research priorities and design protocols to address these priorities. • CTUs support all aspects of study design and management. • LRNs, Areas and the Neonatal Network facilitate the conduct of studies across the NHS). • The MCRN also works with the CCRN Paediatrics (non-medicines) Speciality Group to support studies not involving medicines.
