VACANCYANNOUNCEMENT SafetyandSecurityAdvisor Erbil,Iraq Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization.Weworktoreduceviolenceandprotectciviliansincountriesaffectedby violentconflictanditsaftermath. NP is in the process of setting up protection programming in Iraq as part of the humanitarian response to the impact of the Mosul offensive. Applicants should be preparedforrapiddeployment. WeareseekingahighlymotivatedandexperiencedSafetyandSecurityAdvisor(SSA),to supportthedeliveryofeffectivesafetyplanning,adviceandoperationssupportforNP’s programminginIraq.ThepostisbasedinErbil,withfrequenttraveltofieldlocations. As SSA you will be working alongside programme staff in the field, responsible for providing strategic as well as on-the-ground safety and security advice and support to programme staff deploying to hostile or dangerous environments. An integrated approach to the provision of safety and security advice enables NP to implement programmingassafelyaspossible. TheSSAisamemberoftheCountryProgrammeManagementTeam.He/shewill: • Produce SOPs, contingency plans and risk assessment documentation, ensuring theseareuptodateandinlinewithrequiredstandards • Maintain close contact with all relevant stakeholders to develop a network and buildrelationshipswithkeyactors–NGOs,INGOs,UNandgovernmentagencies, securityforcesandotherarmedactors • Monitorandanalysethesecuritysituation,ensuringreliablesecurityinformation asbasisforinformeddecision-making • Providesecuritycontextanalysisanddailysecurityupdates • Provide on-the-ground security advice and ensure situational awareness to mitigateriskstoprogrammestaffinthefield • Facilitateanongoingcultureoflearningandimprovingasitrelatestosafetyand security and arrange ongoing training as a key strategy for improved security conditions Theidealcandidatehas: • Atleastfive(5)yearsexperienceworkingwithanINGOinasecuritymanagement position or field coordination position with management of security.
