Absolution 11:00 a.m. – HOLY EUCHARIST Sunday School: (JK to High School) on Lower Level in the Main Hall Nursery & Preschool: Lower Level, Nursery Room Processional Hymn 378 (Common Praise) Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne: hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own! Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, and hail him as thy matchless King through all eternity. Crown him the Lord of life, who triumphed o'er the grave, and rose victorious in the strife for those he came to save. His glories now we sing who died and rose on high, who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die. Crown him the Lord of peace, whose power a sceptre sways from pole to pole, that wars may cease, absorbed in prayer and praise. His reign shall know no end; and round his pierced feet fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet. Crown him the Lord of love; behold his hands and side, rich wounds yet visible above, in beauty glorified. All hail, Redeemer, hail! for thou hast died for me; thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity. Welcome and Call to Worship Priest: The peace of the Lord be always with you. PEOPLE: AND ALSO WITH YOU. Canon Kim Beard Choir Anthem: “King All Glorious” The Apostles' Creed: (said together, standing) I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Offertory Hymn: Jesus is King Jesus is King, and I will extol Him, give Him the glory and honour His name; He reigns on high, enthroned in the heavens, Word of the Father, exalted for us. We have a hope that is steadfast and certain, gone through the curtain and touching the throne; we have a Priest who is there interceding, pouring His grace on our lives day by day. We come to Him, our Priest and Apostle, clothed in His Glory and bearing His name; laying our lives, with gladness before Him filled with His Spirit, we worship the King. Oh, Holy One, our hearts do adore You; thrilled with Your goodness, we give You our praise; Angels in light with worship surround You, Jesus our Saviour, forever the same. Hymn 257 - Jesus, thy boundless love to me no thought can reach, no tongue declare; O knit my thankful heart to thee, and reign without a rival there; thine wholly, thine alone I am; be thou alone my constant flame. O grant that nothing in my soul may dwell, but thy pure love alone; O may thy love possess me whole, my joy, my treasure, and my crown; strange fires far from my soul remove; may every act, word, thought, be love. home. Through days of preparation thy grace has made us strong, and now, O King eternal, we lift our battle song. O love, how cheering is thy ray; all pain before thy presence flies; care, anguish, sorrow, melt away where'er thy healing beams arise; O Jesus, nothing may I see, nothing desire or seek, but thee. Lead on, O King eternal, till sin's fierce war shall cease, and holiness shall whisper the sweet Amen of peace; for not with swords loud clashing, nor roll of stirring drums, but deeds of love and mercy, the heavenly kingdom comes. In suffering, be thy love my peace; in weakness, be thy love my power; and when the storms of life shall cease, Jesus, in that important hour, in death as life be thou my guide, and save me, who for me hast died. Lead on, O King eternal! We follow, not with fears; for gladness breaks like morning where'ere thy face appears. Thy cross is lifted o'er us; we journey in its light; the crown awaits the conquest: lead on, O God of might. I Will Offer Up My Life I will offer up my life in spirit and truth, pouring out the oil of love as my worship to you. In surrender I must give my ev’ry part, Lord receive the sacrifice of a broken heart. Dismissal: Leader: Go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. People: Thanks be to God. Chorus: Jesus, what can I give, what can I bring to so faithful a friend, to so loving a King? Saviour, what can be said, what can be sung as a praise of your name for the things you have done? Oh, my words could not tell, not even in part, of the debt of love that is owed by this thankful heart. You deserve my every breath for you’ve paid the great cost, giving up your life to death, even death on a cross. You took all my shame away, there defeated my sin, opened up the gates of heaven and have beckoned me in. [Matt Redman, c. 1994, Kingsway’s Thankyou Music; by permission CCLI #459447] You Are The Vine You are the Vine, we are the branches, keep us abiding in You.
