8th December 2006 Llanidloes DVD – Get a sneak preview! The new trailer for the Llanidloes DVD – ‘First Town on the Severn’, can now be viewed on www.llanidloes.com. The three minute teaser provides an insight in to what people can expect from the full length DVD, due out early next year. The DVD is presented by Iolo Williams, popular front man of BBC2’s series ‘The Birdman’, ‘Iolo’s Wild Life’ and ‘Iolo’s Welsh Safari. Claire Jones, Marketing Officer for L.L.A.N.I. Ltd says “the Llanidloes DVD is an exciting development in the roll-out of the marketing project for the Arwystli area. Iolo can be seen sailing on Clywedog, Clay Pigeon Shooting in Trefegwlys, learning about the history and architecture of St. Idloes Church and much more – the aerial footage is absolutely stunning and the experience of the production crew really shines through.” The DVD has been commissioned by L.L.A.N.I. Ltd following a successful application to the Welsh European Funding Office for funds to market the Arwystli area. Matthew Davies Media Ltd, based in Llanidloes, was chosen to produce the DVD. The production team has a proven track record in producing creative broadcast quality DVD’s, having filmed for the Forestry Commission Wales and the Countryside Council for Wales amongst others, and earning the Silver Award in the Education category of the International Visual Communications Association Awards earlier this year. Other category award winners included the video for London’s bid for the 2012 Olympics. The promotional DVD will showcase the fantastic array of scenery, attractions and activities on offer for visitors and complement other marketing tools currently in the pipeline such as the first colour glossy brochure for Llanidloes, also due out in January next year. Claire added “It would have been great to get the DVD out in time for Christmas; it is already well ahead of schedule, but we’d much rather spend the time perfecting the finishing touches. After all, when it comes out in January it will already be two months earlier than expected! For anyone who wishes to reserve their copy, they can be pre-ordered on www.llanidloes.com, where the Kittiwake book “Walks Around Llanidloes”, the Llanidloes 2007 calendar and the Llanidloes Fair Food cook book can also be purchased.” .
