duration of Kia’s 7-Year warranty

Frankfurt, 4 March 2013 – Kia today announced details of a new offer, the 7-Year Map
Update, which allows buyers of new Kia models to claim satellite map navigation updates
for the duration of the car’s 7-Year warranty.
Available from March in continental European markets, all new Kia models purchased with
manufacturer-fit satellite navigation systems will enable the customer to receive annual map
updates The program will be designed according to local market specifications.
The data behind the 7-Year Map Update – expected to be provided in the form of six
separate upgrades during the lifetime of the standard Kia warranty – will be delivered by
NAVTEQ Maps and will ensure Kia buyers across Europe have the latest road network
information. The offer is also transferable to subsequent owners of the car and is not limited
by the car’s kilometres.
“Kia’s new 7-Year Map Update offer demonstrates our commitment to making the Kia
ownership experience as satisfying as possible, and means our customers will always be
able to rely on the accuracy of their navigation system,” commented Michael Cole, Chief
Operating Officer, Kia Motors Europe.
“With Kia’s unique 7-Year, 150,000 km warranty, we have already pushed the boundaries of
what is possible from an aftersales perspective – it therefore made sense to provide 7-Year
Map Update to our customers for the same period,” concluded Cole.
