BATV BOARD MEETING MINUTES
August 23, 2013 7:45 A.M.
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS – BATAVIA GOVERNMENT CENTER
CALL TO ORDER: The board meeting was called to order at 7:49 am.
ROLL CALL: Board members in attendance were as follows: Dillenburg, Berger, West,
Davis, Miller, Wolff, Matter, Inglese @ 8:07. Staff: Brens, Deitchman
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Motion made Berger, 2nd by Wolff. A voice vote was taken
and approved by all.
STATION MANAGER’S REPORT – Deitchman has been busy with Franchise agreement
and audit.
Third show has successfully launched, "Its News to Me". BATV now has a monthly, bimonthly and bi-weekly shows running! Deitchman gave an update on the studio’s SD
cameras vs. the end product being HD. All cameras that are checked out to public are HD
– except for the studio cameras. We need to come up with an interim solution for studio
shoots so that the studio shows are not such poor SD quality. Suggest trying to cable in
some of the remote HD cameras into the TriCaster. This may be some work, but will
help until we get funding for true HD Studio cameras.
An LTE card needs to be purchased from Sprint (this is an upgrade over 3G) to help with
remote area taping. Motion for Holly Deitchman to sign a 2-year contract with Sprint for
the LTE card – made by Wolff, 2nd by Davis. All approved
PROGRAM DIRECTOR’S REPORT – School started back on Tues, the 20th. Been
working on getting everything ready for football season. Chad is stepping down from
editing of “On the Town” – Jen is going to be working with a student on possibly taking
over the editing.
TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE REPORT – Allen and Wolff pulled all cables at the high
school; HDI components are now in place at the school. Going to get paint on the
announcer's booth, but wasn't sure if logo can be displayed. Davis offered up to make a
large logo sticker for the booth.
HR COMMITTEE – None
