General Information
Description
Course includes a focus on textile design, textile science, product construction, global manufacturing and the
apparel/textile market while building on content learned in Apparel & Textile Production 1.






Expectations and Goals (honors)
Students are expected to come prepared each day. Students should have all required materials for each project or let
the instructor know 3 days in advance of any needed supplies. (Honors students will be expected to complete all
additional assignments on time. Some work outside of class will be required of honors students)
Course Materials
Required Supplies









2” 3 ring binder for notes
5 tab dividers for portfolio sections
Writing instruments (colored pencils optional)
Approximately 50 sheets of notebook paper
$3 for project patterns
Fabric and notions for personal projects.
Sketch pad (Honors: Fashion Sketchpad with Croquis) minimum 30 pages
(Honors: approximately 50 clear page protectors)
(Honors: An old piece of furniture for re-designing)
Optional Supplies and Tools (date needed: TBA)




White t-shirt for Tie Dye (can order through class)
Bent handle sewing shears, large handle seam ripper
Small box of ball headed pins
While these supplies are “optional” they are highly recommended for students at this level

Redesign/repurpose an upholstered furniture piece – both to be displayed at Statesville spring Art Crawl
