BRANCH MANAGER, DAWSON CREEK BRANCH Lake View Credit Union is a dynamic organization with over 12,000 members and assets over $230 million. It serves northeastern British Columbia with branches in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge. The Branch Manager will work primarily from the main branch in Dawson Creek, which is a growing city just 30 minutes from the Alberta border and 45 minutes from Fort St. John, British Columbia. Title: Department: Reports to: Branch Manager Member Services Manager, Operations SUMMARY This position reports to the Operations Manager, and under executive direction, the Branch Manager will be responsible for the day to day business activities and operations of the Dawson Creek Branch. This position will oversee the investment and consumer loan portfolios; approve loans and initiate action to improve growth and development of the branches’ loan and deposit portfolios; manage directly and indirectly all branch employees; implement marketing plans for product and service promotion; analyze financial statements and produces branch reports. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the annual branch budget Reviews and analyses branch reports and credit files on a regular basis, prepares and submits branch reports Translates the credit union strategic goals and objectives into “hands on” operational goals and individual action plans for employees Responsible for the appropriate on-going coaching and mentoring of employees, along with continuing the growth of a constructive culture Implements the marketing plans and programs that contribute to the continued growth and development of the Branch, while maintaining an active involvement in community activities Ensures branch profitability and growth objectives as well as ensuring credit quality Manages deposit and loan portfolios and funds under administration and ensures all activities are in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations Provides excellent leadership to branch employees in business development through cross selling all credit union products and services, and pursuing new business by establishing and maintaining contact with the business community Coaching and developing branch employees to ensure that member interactions are consistent with a member centric environment Provides technical direction in all areas of member service functions, balancing, security procedures and product information Manages directly or indirectly all branch employees which may include subordinate managers; participates the hiring of new branch employees; implements training and development programs; establishes performance standards, evaluates performance of subordinate employees; if necessary initiates discipline; conducts employee meetings and monitors all branch activities to ensure awareness of operational problems and successes. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITIES Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrates leadership ability and team development skills Strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial mindset Demonstrates dedication to providing quality member sales and service Proven ability to be creative and innovative Knowledge and understanding of business planning, accounting, lending and sales is considered an asset EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Finance Completion of a recognized lending designation and/or Mutual Funds license 10 years related experience in the financial services industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
