RESOLUTION 14-08
A Resolution Authorizing a Contract with Ehlers Investment Partners
for Investment Advisory Services
WHEREAS the City of Lodi entered into contract with Ehlers Investment Partners for
investment advisory services in April 2012; and
WHEREAS the Securities and Exchange Commission was charged with defining, creating rules,
and regulating Municipal Advisors and investments advisors were requested to temporarily resister as an
Municipal Advisor until the final Municipal Advisor definition was approved; and
WHEREAS Ehlers Investment Partners filed a temporary registration at that time and the
existing contract with the City referred to Ehlers Investment Partners as a Municipal Advisor; and
WHEREAS the definition of a Municipal Advisor was finally approved in September 2013 and
went into effect January 2014; and
WHEREAS when the final definition was approved, Ehlers Investment Partners determined it
fell into an Investment Advisor rather than a Municipal Advisor role and terminated its Municipal
Advisor registration; and
WHEREAS in order to reflect this change, the contract has been revised to remove any
reference to Ehlers Investment Partners as a Municipal Advisor; and
WHEREAS the original agreement between the City and Ehlers Investment Partners was for
one year; and
WHEREAS the relationship between the City and Ehlers Investment Partners has been
satisfactory for both parties; and
WHEREAS the proposed contract now contains no end date but still retains a provision for
cancellation of the agreement by either party with 30 days notice.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Lodi,
Columbia County, Wisconsin that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with
Ehlers, Inc. for investment advisory services, as per the attached agreement.
