Organization Description
The Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy was formed in 1979 by 11 teen parent service providers.

organizations, individuals and communities working to prevent unintended teen pregnancy and ensure
the well-being of expectant and parenting youth. Our mission is “to advocate statewide and mobilize
communities to prevent teen pregnancy, to increase opportunities for youth and young parents, and to
empower young people ages 15-24 to make healthy decisions about relationships, sex, parenting, and
life.”
Over the years, the Alliance has grown to include a network of more than 60 partners, including local
teen pregnancy coalitions, school-based health centers, teen parenting and other organizations
dedicated to preventing teen pregnancy, and helping teen parents access critical resources and services
for young families.
