Who we are
We are Optiver, an international trading company, headquartered in Amsterdam. With more than 700

IT at Optiver
Since trading on the floor changed to screen-based trading, we constantly need the most advanced
technology, trading software and connections to the market. In short, we need the best IT-professionals
to develop, optimise and support our systems and tools. The atmosphere we are working in is fast, but

IT Operations Talent Programme
As our new IT Operations Trainee you will be assigned to a challenging 1-1,5 year programme that
consist of a combination of work and study. You will start in a Service Desk role where you will act as the
first line of support for all issues related to our IT Operations department. This will give you the
opportunity to become acquainted with all departments within Optiver quickly. You will be expected to
ensure that incidents are identified, correctly prioritized and resolved within an agreed timeframe. With
your great communication skills, you are able to involve and inform all of our internal departments
about the status of their requests and incidents.
In addition we will provide you with an extensive study programme that offers you internally- and
externally accredited trainings (such as operating systems management, networks and project
management), to give you the skills required to become an IT professional. Through the IT Operations
Talent Programme, you will develop your knowledge of IT and financial markets within 1-1,5 years to
such an extent that you will be able to grow further within our Application Management, UNIX,
Windows or Networks teams.
What you’ll need:








at least Bachelor’s level related to Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent;
the ambition and potential to develop a successful IT career;
huge drive to learn; be able to combine work and study;
an affinity with Trading/Finance and IT Operations;
excellent communication skills, fluency in English is required;
the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation;
enthusiasm combined with a service-focused attitude;
a hands-on mentality and a structured way of working.
