Job Description: LGV C+E (Class 1) DRIVER (Fixed Term Contract)
About us
G. Easton & Son Ltd are a family business involved in the transportation of dry and bulk liquid goods in
the East of England. We have bases in Bunwell, Norfolk, and Alford, Lincoln and Grantham, in
Lincolnshire. We also trade under the name of Bulk Food Transport Ltd. We are looking for an
experienced C+E LGV Driver to help us with the September 2015 – February 2016 sugar beet
campaign.
Brief Job Description
Job location: Bunwell
Hours: Full and part time opportunities available
Fixed term contract until end of February 2016
We clean, load and collect sugar beet from farms in Norfolk and Suffolk and deliver to factories at Bury
St Edmunds and Cantley during the sugar beet campaign in 44T tipper lorries. We also fulfil other dry
and liquid bulk contracts in other parts of the business which you may be asked to assist with.
Start times will vary according to the day’s work, but will normally be between 5am and 7am. A day will
normally last around 12 hours.
Sugar beet work is local and consistent, but other types of job can run further afield within the East of
England. Applicants will need to be able to deal with farmers and factory/mill/port staff in a polite and
courteous manner and not mind working in an agricultural environment.
Applicants must hold a valid and ideally clean C+E LGV licence, and must hold a valid Driver CPC. Full
job-specific training is given. You must be able to work as part of a team and capable of using your
own initiative when circumstances require. Successful applicants will be willing to undertake any other
reasonable duties and prepared to work on other bulk work in the area as required.
Payment
Payment is awarded at a basic hourly rate and two rates of overtime. Regular overtime work is usually
available. Annual earnings for an averaged 5 day working week are £25k – 30k pa, depending
upon the hours worked. Applicants must be prepared to work weekends and bank holidays as
required.

Bank Holidays are paid at Overtime rate 2 plus a day in lieu. Annual holiday entitlement is 4 weeks’
paid holiday (excluding public holidays).
Payment is made on a weekly basis. CPC periodic training is organised and paid for by the Company.
The position is a fixed term contract until the end of February 2016.
