North Carolina Home Builders Association Appoints Two Area Builders to 2014
Land Use Council
WILMINGTON – North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) President J. Gary
Hill has appointed Sandy Wood as Chairman of the NCHBA 2014 Land Use Council
and Deans Hackney as Vice Chairman.
The Land Use Council assesses the needs of the land development community in North
Carolina, reviews issues relevant to land development and particularly issues which
may impact the cost of land and affordability of residential construction. The Council
also makes recommendations for potential legislative and regulatory action as
necessary to the state Home Builders’ Legislative and Regulatory Committees.
Wood is with Trusst Builder Group and Hackney owns Horizon Homes of Wilmington.
Wood is the current Chairman of the Business Alliance for a Sound Economy (BASE)
an advocacy organization for the real estate, home building and development industries;
and Hackney is a Past President of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders
Association (WCFHBA).
“We are very proud to have been asked to provide leadership and a coastal perspective
on the state level,” says Donna Girardot, Executive Officer of WCFHBA. “Both Sandy
and Deans are great choices and bring a great deal of knowledge and expertise with
regard to the development side of the home building business.”
