Applications are hereby invited for the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations and Administration.

JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will provide strategic leadership for the Operations and Administrative functions of the First
Citizens Group to ensure that the strategic and business objectives of the Group are realized. He/she will also be
responsible for providing visionary and strategic leadership to the Group’s functional areas namely Information
Communication Technology, Systems and Procedures, Back Office Support, Shared Services, Project
Management, Facilities Management, Security Services, Legal, Compliance and Governance, Trustee Services,
Corporate Communications and Marketing and Group Procurement and Vendor Management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES














Conceptualizes business strategy in collaboration with the other members of Executive Management to
advance the performance of the Group
Develops the strategic framework/model for the Group as part of the Group’s executive team to ensure
commitment and a clear, shared and consistent understanding for achieving strategic priorities
Contributes to the interpretation of corporate strategy into corporate plans to support the Group’s
planning processes
Oversees the strategic direction to the assigned reporting functional areas
Manages and balances key stakeholder relationships to support the Group’s business objectives
Leads policy development from a strategic perspective working with the Group C.E.O and other
members of the Executive Management Team
Oversees all operations to ensure activities are carried out in compliance with the respective
regulations and laws governing the Group’s business operations
Responsible for the Group’s governance accountabilities on behalf of the Group CEO
Serves as a Director on the Boards of Subsidiary companies within the Group and on the Boards of
external companies, in which any entity within the Group may have an interest
Acts as a brand ambassador for the Group to represent the Group at professional, business and
community Organizations, to promote the Group and increase business
Builds strong relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure the achievement of Group’s
business priorities
Manages the budget to ensure the efficient and professional operation of the Units under their purview
Provides support to the Group CEO and Board of Directors
Performs all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Group CEO or Board of
Directors
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline from a reputable University or other
professional qualification from a recognized professional body; at least seven (7) years extensive and successful
experience in the Banking or Financial Services Sector at the Senior Executive Level and a list of demonstrated
accomplishments and achievements at this level OR A First Degree and a minimum of twelve (12) years
experience in the Banking or Financial Services Sector at a Senior Executive Level and a list of demonstrated
accomplishments and achievements at this level. The ideal candidate must also possess a high degree of honesty
and integrity, visionary leadership, proven leadership skills in addition to knowledge of strategic planning.
