Research interests focused inter alia on international and domestic climate change law and policy,
compliance and implementation of international environmental law, international environmental
law in Indian courts, and the interface of environment, trade, human rights and development.
Responsible for organizing as part of CPR’s Climate Initiative, and anchor of the Group of
International Lawyers in Delhi (GUILD) periodic seminars and conferences.

POLICY ENGAGEMENT & IMPACT
Invited as an academic expert in international climate change law to numerous influential policy
evolution meetings on the climate change regime including inter alia UN Framework Convention
on Climate Change expert meetings, a EU Heads of Climate Change Delegations meeting
organized by the Cypriot Presidency, meetings organized by BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India and
China) countries, and the Alliance of Small Island States. Assisted, in drafting, as part of a UNFCCC
team, key legal documents emerging from the climate change negotiations in the last five years.
Academic articles on the climate change negotiations, in particular a series of articles in the
International & Comparative Law Quarterly, reading between the lines of the texts agreed at the
international climate change negotiations, have been widely distributed on climate change listserves, featured in several graduate reading lists, and cited and used by policy makers,
negotiators and activists.
