Project Need Summary: UVM Water Reuse Data Client: Grant Taylor Association: ECO AmeriCorps, Green Infrastructure Collaborative, Lake Champlain Sea Grant, and the Department of Environmental Conservation. Phone: (802) 318-8786 E-mail: [email protected] Need statement: The Green Infrastructure Collaborative (GIC) is would like a map that highlights opportunities for water reuse on the UVM campus. Background: We want information on total rooftop area on campus, the volume of stormwater created by these surfaces per year, the total black water and irrigation usage of the related buildings, and how much water the building could conserve by installing a storage and reuse system. The GIC would use this information to find water use efficiency upgrade data for each building. UVM could also use this information to engineer cost saving retrofits for some of their buildings. Statement of need: The final product will be a map of the UVM campus with buildings labeled, and corresponding data for each building (rooftop stormwater generated, yearly water use, opportunity for water conservation). Spatial extent: This study is focused on the UVM campus.
