The Remedy
of God
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus
Christ and His resurrection provide the
only ground for justification and
salvation for all who believe, and only
such as receive Jesus Christ are born
of the Holy Spirit and, thus become
children of God.
“…there are some who are disturbing
you and want to distort the gospel of
Christ. But even if we, or an angel from
heaven, should preach to you a gospel
contrary to what we have preached to
you, he is to be accursed!” (Gal. 1:7-8)
DISTORTED GOSPELS
1. Prosperity Gospel
DISTORTED GOSPELS
“…Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires
to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever
desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever
loses his life for My sake will find it. For what
profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world,
and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give
in exchange for his soul?” (MT 16:24-26)
DISTORTED GOSPELS
2. Social Gospel
3. Works Gospel
“…Did you receive the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith? Are you so foolish? Having
begun in the Spirit, are you now being
made perfect by the flesh?”
(Gal. 3:2-3)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reason for The Cross
1. Christ Died that We Might Live
“All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own
way; and the Lord has laid on Him the
iniquity of us all.”
(Isa. 53:6)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reason for The Cross
1. Christ Died that We Might Live
“For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Rom. 6:23)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reason for The Cross
1. Christ Died that We Might Live
“For Christ also suffered once for sins,
the just for the unjust, that He might
bring us to God, being put to death in
the flesh but made alive by the Spirit”
(1 Pet. 3:18)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reason for The Cross
2. Christ Died that We Might Be Reconciled
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
“And you, being dead in your trespasses…
He has made alive together with Him,
having forgiven you all trespasses, having
wiped out the handwriting of requirements
that was against us, which was contrary to
us. And He has taken it out of the way,
having nailed it to the cross”
(Col. 2:13-14)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
“…(God) has reconciled us to Himself
through Jesus Christ…”
(2 Cor. 5:18)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reproach of The Cross
“…we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling
block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles”
(1 Cor. 1:23)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Reproach of The Cross
“For I determined not to know anything
among you except Jesus Christ and Him
crucified.” (1 Cor. 2:2)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Rejection of The Cross
“He who believes in the Son has
everlasting life; and he who does not
believe the Son shall not see life, but the
wrath of God abides on him.”
(John 3:36)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Rejection of The Cross
“Nor is there salvation in any other,
for there is no other name under heaven
given among men by which we must be
saved.” (Acts 4:12)
THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL
The Response to The Cross
“For godly sorrow produces
repentance leading to salvation…”
(2 Cor. 7:10)
