The ideal profile is a PhD in the area of Human Resources, Organisational Behaviour, or related discipline together with a proven publication record in international, peer-reviewed academic journals. Proven excellence as a facilitator and teacher on postgraduate and executive education programmes within the Human Resource and Organisational Behaviour arena is essential. BUSINESS STRATEGY The GSB is currently recruiting for an academic position in BUSINESS STRATEGY, at senior faculty level. The motivation for recruiting for this position is to develop the GSB’s Business Strategy course as one of the flagship courses of the MBA curriculum and ensure that it stands out in terms of its practical relevance to today’s constantly changing business environment. Your profile - PhD in the area of Business Strategy; - Proven experience in consulting, designing and implementing business strategy at reputable organisations, also in emerging markets - Proven publication record of good standing; - Viewed as an authority and thought leader in business strategy, with experience in speaking at conferences and events / Tedx or similar - Excellent learning facilitation and teaching style to ensure effective development of practical core capabilities - International exposure and experience required - Be committed to developing case studies with an emerging market focus; - Fluency in English (mastery of additional languages appreciated) - Experience with working with diverse team members INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP The GSB is currently recruiting for an academic position in INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP, at senior faculty level. The motivation for recruiting for this position is to strengthen the GSB’s position as the academic centre for Entrepreneurship in South Africa. Our approach to entrepreneurship is to equip our students with the practical capabilities required to start and expand new business ventures while and post completing their academic curriculum. Your profile - PhD preferably in the area of Innovation and/or Entrepreneurship - Experience in starting at least one successful venture (founder) - Extensive background in working with and/or consulting to entrepreneurs - Extensive knowledge of funding entrepreneurial ventures, ideally private equity or Venture Capital background - Broad network with funders and the South African start-up community - Authority and thought leader in innovation and entrepreneurship, ideally also on policy level - Excellent learning facilitation and teaching style to ensure effective development of practical core capabilities MARKETING In addition to the general requirements in the advertisement, the ideal candidate for this opportunity would be a marketing specialist in the area of digital marketing with an expert grounding in the workings of the internet, digitization, social networking and their impact on organizations, customers, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be conversant with the key digital marketing tools such as social media, crowdsourcing, data analytics, mobile, and e-commerce and how these would be employed in an emerging market context. It is expected that the successful candidate will design and offer appropriate innovative and current courses (e.g., digital strategy, social media and digital marketing, data-driven decision making, digital marketing channels, and digital marketing analytics) on both open academic programmes and executive education programmes.
