Vacancies for chefs/cooks in Sweden
The Swedish labor market is currently short of cooks and chefs in
restaurants and hotels. Swedish hotels and restaurants are searching for
chefs/cooks with experience and vocational training.
As an EU/EEA citizen you have the right to work in Sweden without a work
and residence permit.
Sweden's Public Employment Agency (Arbetsförmedlingen) and Eures
Sweden are responsible to administrate the applications.
Requirements/profile chefs/cooks
Duties
• Review and preparation of arrangements with the Sous Chef / Head Chef
• Be responsible that the kitchen left clean and fresh after your workouts
• Be responsible for keeping track of inventory
• Take care of supplies
• Cook according to the procedures and profitability targets that have been set by the
company
• Be responsible for reading and understanding the work routines in the kitchen
• Well versed in menus
• Helps that all food, cooked, not cooked, leftovers etc. handled properly after
instructions
Skills requirements, certification, training or other
• At least two years of chef/cook training in public or private school
• You expected to have basic cooking knowledge and production techniques as well as
methods and cooking of dishes
• Basic baking, methods and basic doughs
• You are familiar with high service / hospitality and top customer treatment
• You expected to collaborated with your co-workers, work organization and leadership
• You have excellent food hygiene/food safety, personal hygiene and knowledge of selfcontrol HACCP
• You expected to know basic professional finance, budgeting, pricing and costing and
additional sales
• You expected to have good food knowledge and understanding of the different food
groups
• You expected to have knowledge to meet guests with special needs as common food
allergies and diets
• You expected to have depression in professional cooking in classical and modern
cooking
• You expected to have nutritional knowledge, basic nutrition, nutrition calculation of
meals, and specialization in special diets and vegetarian diets
• You expected to have some knowledge of the machine and material as well as safety
regulations in the kitchen.
• Very good knowledge in English-B2 or C1

Salary: wages are set by collective bargaining agreements between employers and
unions. Contracts of permanent length or seasonal employment. Most permanent
positions are preceded by a trial period of three to six months during which the
employer can fire an employee at will.
