I NNOVATIVE S OLUTIONS I N S ENSORS A ND C O N T R O L S LINEAR DISPLACEMENT SENSOR (LDS) TEXAS INSTRUMENTS announces the development of a Linear Displacement Sensor (LDS) for aircraft and industrial applications using proprietary TI sensor technology. With over 40 years of expertise in discrete position sensing in a wide range of demanding aerospace and industrial applications, TI offers a variable output sensor that measures linear displacement. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LDS • Ratiometric DC output voltage of 0.54.5 Vdc • Supply voltage is 5 Vdc • Infinite resolution • Operation at –65°F to +250°F • Robust with a mechanical life of over 1.5 million cycles • Linearity of < ± 2.5% Vcc. APPLICATIONS • Flight controls • Cockpit controls • Nose wheel steering • Landing gear • Door electronics • Hydraulic controls • Elevators • Industrial & Commercial equipment • Conveyor belts The Linear Displacement Sensor (LDS) can be customized in various configurations to meet specific application requirements. TI offers several displacement and mounting options. Consult the factory for details.
