INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE ON THE LEGAL SERVICES PANEL OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AFFAIRS
The Department of Land Affairs (DLA) has established a Land Rights
Management Facility (LRMF) to facilitate the provision of legal services and
mediation services. The Legal Services Project (LSP) will establish a panel of
lawyers to represent poor, marginalised and indigent individuals and
communities whose land rights are threatened or violated. The DLA has
appointed Cheadle Thompson & Haysom Inc. (CTH) to manage and coordinate the panel.
The LSP will appoint panellists with effect from 1st July 2008 and attorneys in
private practice who have expertise or a proven interest in land rights issues
and an interest in undertaking legal work of this type in the public interest are
invited to apply.
Panellists will be remunerated in accordance with a fee tariff and will be
required to adhere to a code of professional responsibilities.
Attorneys who wish to apply for inclusion on the panel are requested to obtain
an application form from Ms Soraya Murphy at Tel: 021-422 2210 or by
telefax 021-422 2376 or email [email protected]. Completed forms must
be returned by Friday, 30th May 2008.
