INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE ON THE LEGAL SERVICES PANEL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AFFAIRS The Department of Land Affairs (DLA) has established a Land Rights Management Facility (LRMF) to facilitate the provision of legal services and mediation services. The Legal Services Project (LSP) will establish a panel of lawyers to represent poor, marginalised and indigent individuals and communities whose land rights are threatened or violated. The DLA has appointed Cheadle Thompson & Haysom Inc. (CTH) to manage and coordinate the panel. The LSP will appoint panellists with effect from 1st July 2008 and attorneys in private practice who have expertise or a proven interest in land rights issues and an interest in undertaking legal work of this type in the public interest are invited to apply. Panellists will be remunerated in accordance with a fee tariff and will be required to adhere to a code of professional responsibilities.
