2. Spring, 1999: Research Fellow, International Nutrition Foundation, Boston, MA, dissertation research for MIT,
focusing on scientific visualization of remotely sensed data for drought related famine conditions in Sudan.
3. Summer, 1997: Visiting Faculty Fellow, Oxford Univ., Environmental Change Unit, Oxford, UK, research on
climate change impact on food security in Africa’s Sahel region and development of a cooperative agreement
between Oxford Parallel and DOD NAVOCEANO HPCMO PET program to facilitate a training workshop on
Bulk Synchronous Parallelism (BSP) as an alternative to Message Passing Interface (MPI).
