based on an 8.5 pound bird).
III.
EFFLUENT AND RECEIVING STREAM FLOW DATA
1.894 MGD (maximum), 1.344 MGD (maximum 30-day), and 1.200 MGD (long term average) of
process wastewater, sanitary wastewater, boiler blowdown and scrubbers, condenser non-contact
cooling water, ice, and storm water runoff discharges into Okatoma Creek. The current permit has
an average flow limit of 1.919 MGD.
IV.
TMDL AND 303(d) ISSUES
TMDL for the Leaf River (December 2004) for fecal coliform. TMDL does not recommend any
reduction in the existing effluent limits for fecal coliform for this discharge.
V.
TYPE OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT:
Anaerobic lagoons, aerated lagoons, activated sludge, nitrification and denitrification, and UV
disinfection.

PPL
Biochemical Oxygen Demand (5-Day), Total Suspended Solids, and Ammonia as Nitrogen shall be
monitored weekly utilizing a 24-hour composite sample. Oil and Grease, Fecal Coliform Bacteria, Dissolved
Oxygen, and pH shall be monitored weekly with a grab sample of the effluent. Flow shall be measured
continuously using a recorder.
1/
There is no test method to monitor total nitrogen. Total Nitrogen is the total of nitrate/nitrite and total
kjeldahl nitrogen. Nitrate/nitrite nitrogen and total kjeldahl nitrogen must be monitored and the
results added together to obtain a value for total nitrogen.
XII.
BPT AND BAT STATEMENT:
The foregoing limitations represent BPT & BAT.
