Research Summary
I am interested in the use of dipolar aromatic compounds, particularly azulenes, as solvent polarity probes of
concentrated, nonaqueous salt solutions as well as ionic liquids. In addition, I am also interested in the ability of
these media to promote and sustain heterolytic C-C, C-O and C-N bond cleavage.
