Albanian Birdwatching - Basic guide training for tour operators.
12th – 14th October 2016 in Vlora, Albania.
The USAID - Regional Economic Growth (Tourism) program and the Western Balkans Geotourism Network*
are hosting a three-day training for outdoor tourism professionals in Vlore Albania. The FREE training will
give basic birdwatching guiding skills for outdoor operators, as well as providing essential information about
the international ‘birding’ tourism market and it’s potential for Albania.
Birdwatching tourism is one of the fastest growing and most profitable ‘new tourism’ themes in Europe.
With an amazing variety unspoiled natural habitats and a moratorium on all bird hunting, Albania is well
placed to become a leading birdwatching destination. During the training course delegates will learn the
essential elements for developing successful birdwatching activities and programs.
The training course, provided by the Albanian Ornithological Society, covers bird guiding skills, bird
identification and information about bird morphology, habits and habitats. Part of the training takes place in
the class room and part in the field.
INVITATION ONLY - To confirm your place at this event – Please RSVP to
[email protected] before 6th October.
*During the meeting we will also introduce the work of REG and introduce the Western Balkans Geotourism Network a free to join
marketing network for responsible tourism businesses.
